In 2010 the Library presented the Italian opera on Siberian scene project

Italian opera on Siberian scene is a project arranged by the Italian cultural center and the Arts reading room and supported by the Department of culture of the Novosibirsk region. From March to November 2010 various events will be held within the project:

- musical events featuring Opera theater and philharmonic singers, and students of conservatory;
- creative meetings with actors from the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater;
- video shows of Italian operas with historical and musical comments;
- thematic book exhibitions.

The project schedule:

- March 6. "A reminiscence of Italy", a performance of the Honored Artist of Russia Olga Obukhova (mezzo-soprano) and an accompanist Irina Nemova (piano).
- March 27. "I Pagliacci". A film-opera show.
- April 17. "Cavalleria rusticana". A film-opera show.
- April 25. Musical evening with the conservatory students.
- May 16. Musical evening with the Opera Theater soloists Alexey Lakushkin (basso) and Ekaterina Marzoeva (mezzo-soprano). Accompanist Irina Nemova (piano).
- May 29. "I puritani". A film-opera show.
- Sepember 18 at 5 pm, Conference-hall (4-th floor). "Music in the heart", a musical event.
- October 16. Gaetano Donizetti's  "L'Elisir d'Amore - The elixir of love". A film-opera show.
- October 30. Concert and lecture dedicated to the memory of Luciano Pavarotti.
- November 13. Giacomo Puccini's "Madame Butterfly". A film-opera show.
- November 19. Un INCONTRO di AMICI. The "Italian opera on Siberian scene" project final gala concert coincided with the Italian Cultural Centre anniversary celebration.
